Torc Campus, Tamworth – Part of the Building Schools for the Future programme, this project involved a 5,000 square metre refurbishment of an existing building and a 1,000 metre new build. The roofing package consisted of Sarnafil single ply roofing, fascia, cladding and guttering.
SRC carried out extensive value engineering on this project prior to commencing on site to provide cost effective solutions without compromising the integrity of the specification.
Refurbishment projects are inherently more fraught than new build projects and SRC prides itself on its proven track record on complex refurbishments. This project involved the stripping out and renewing of approximately thirty rooflights and numerous plant being placed at roof level, in addition to the overhaul of the roof. All of which was undertaken whilst part of the school remained open. These site complexities required a high level of interface between various trades to ensure a watertight structure was maintained.
